AEROSHELTER®II makes key contributions to disaster relief! |

 |
AEROSHELTER®II, a tent which we produce and
market, had a great impact as an evacuation shelter after a large
earthquake in the Chuetsu-Niigata area of Japan in October 2004.
AEROSHELTER®II is a large temporary tent that can be put up by
inflating. Conventional tents require several days to be put up,
since they are assembled with metal poles; however, AEROSHELTER®II,
a standard size large temporary tent with a usable area of 170 square
meters, can be put up in just 30 minutes.
Another feature is that the tent is made of Teijin's PowerRip®,
a lightweight, high strength polyester textile, it has a high weather
resistancy and wind cannot easily blow through it. It is also light
and can be easily carried by a few people.
These features made the tent very useful for disaster relief for
last year's earthquake, and the tent drew a lot of publicity from
the mass media after being written up in two of the largest newspapers
in Japan, the Asahi and Yomiuri dailies, and it attracted extensive
television coverage as well. |
